Well, for the moment, O/O is not a title I can claim. Owner, yes. Its the operaror part I need A LOT of advice on. Basically I'm carpenter with a very impractical R/V parked in the yard! LOL

I don't think this outfit cares if you have experience or not. They even have their own cdl school and refresher.Last edited: Mar 12, 2018

I was working on a reply before I read yours. You basically covered what I would have advised. I just want to add this.
To @Crossbones : This might sound dumb but it really is not on you to (prove) anything. Just list the information. Even with company's that don't exist any longer it would surprise you what information is out there that can be discovered.Last edited: Mar 12, 2018

Lots of companies offer a refresher course.
Can't use tax records as proof of experience?
I had to get copies from irs when some idiot in a local town tried to get 15 years of local taxes from me!

Crossbones Thanks this. -
Aren't they across the street from Summerford Trucking?

Maybe look into hauling something that's not real valuable and stay local to keep an eye on your other business . I know a guy making $1000 dollars a day to the truck on 200 loaded miles ( 400 total) making 2 loads a day. He hauls trash and has a wet kit to run a walking floor trailer. Most of the guys in my area are leased to big companies that have a hold on the business and they pull there "tipper trailers" and don't need a wet kit. If your willing to put money into a wet kit you could get into dump trailer or walking floor. Maybe talk to a local scrap yard and see if they can give you work maybe hauling scrap cars with there trailer. I know that these options are not the glamorous side of the industry but you can puts some recent safe miles under your belt and keep your insurance cost down hauling low value freight. lrabbiporkchop and Crossbones Thank this.

Just a simple driving test would prove you have prior experience, its kinda like riding a bike you never forget once you've learnt sure you'll feel abit uneasy when you jump into a 53" juggernaut with 80,000 lbs of cargo however you'll soon feel right at home again in a few minutes.Vic Firth and Crossbones Thank this.
