It was the 80w 90 that you used. HeavyD will probably confirm that you have a HPOP or puck issue. That thickened up oil is what helped your cause.

Once hot, was it the injection control pressure vs desired they were watching? Fuel pressure is about 95 psi, but the sensor only reads 75 psi max. There is no desired fuel pressure with those engines on servicemaxx.

They were watching commanded oil pressure from the high pressure oil pump to the pressure sensor values as I understood it, probably what you said, the oil pressure that runs the injectors

If there is no desired fuel pressure on those, and it's between 75 & 95 PSI. Correct me if I'm wrong, light duty mechanic, but I can see how extra fuel could be a problem as injector pulse width is controlled via time, therefore if fuel pressure is higher, fuel volume delivered should be higher too.

The fluctuation of fuel delivery pressure is insignificant and will not cause fuel flooding that you are describing. I think the fueling issue you have is the engine is trying to finish a regen on it's own and the DOC is not converting dosing fuel into heat efficiently and it this is what your raw or over fueling problem is.

Well the Parked Regen button is broken and does nothing. Someone said something about my truck having 2007 Emissions parts instead of 2010 parts, because it was an early built 2010 model truck to explain away the non functioning button.

can you explain to me what exactly this truck is expected to do please?

For the most part, regens happen automatically without you really doing anything and many times not even knowing one is happening. The only warning the engine gives you that it is doing it's own regen is when you are moving LESS than 5 mph it will turn on the high exhaust temp light to let you know the exhaust is very hot in case you are parking in a wheat field or oil refinery. When the system cannot keep up with it's own automatic regens, that is when it will request to you to do a parked regen. It is only during this time that the button will allow a regen to start. It happens all the time that during a normal day the engine will start an automatic regen and then due to stop and go traffic, or you are done for the day, the regen is interrupted and stopped. The engine will remember the status of the incomplete regen and attempt to finish it next time you are operating it again with no interaction required from you. As for your truck. You can have a 2010 model truck that was actually built in 2009 with an engine that is a 2007 emissions model. 2007 is Navistar's first generation of regen DPF trucks and the regen system is very rudimentary compared to the 2010 engine emissions model.

Heavyd you're the man, thank you very much. No one i spoke to could explain that to me as clearly as you just did. I suppose written communication has it's perks when you're well written. Great job. So the last time it was smoking, it was probably regenerating, it was running fine, and the exhaust temp light was on, so that means it's working.

Yes. To help with increasing exhaust heat, the intake throttle valve will close a lot to limit intake air which can cause the engine to run weird. I think all this is a regen problem.

Maybe, at the moment, as long as I leave it in Eco mode, it runs fine. If I switch it to normal mode she bogs down and smokes the entire time, so I'm going to just leave it alone till I can't ignore it any more. With any luck, when it's really broken, it will be easier to diagnose.
