FYI - Loves or Pilot/Flying J (one or the other) has the nice laminated spiral bound one for 21.95. I bought one recently to replace my old one.

Go ahead and "draw the line", please when the time comes let us know how much the line cost you.

Where exactly do you drive Don? What type of freight do you pick up and deliver? I have never had an issue like you describe. There are truck friendly roads in and out of every location I pick up and deliver to. Just curious what causes you to have to take all of these non truck friendly routes?

I've done it a few times.

As soon as I realize I made that mistake I stop, put my hazard lights on and check Google satellite maps.

I look for the fastest way out that looks like I will have enough room.

It hasn't happened yet, but if everything looked horrendous on my phone, then I could still back out at that point. And if need be I could call up the LEO'S.

If you did that, I'd doubt they would write you a ticket because you stopped as soon as you realized your error and you didn't proceed to just make it worse. I could be wrong on that, but that's my assumption.

One time I did have to call LEO'S to help get backed out into a busy road. They were there in about 5 minutes and they knew exactly what to do. Quick & easy.

oh i should have specified and it probably would have made sense. im an owner operator of a triaxle peterbilt 379 dump. I haul for a quarry that is literally a mile from my house. Im like the door dash for stone. I get crazy local deliveries in different townships all within about 20 miles. On avergae 10 mile. I run into big issues in radnor/villanova area of pa and then i run into issues in bryn mawr and glen mills. Basically no trucks allowed anywhere in villlanove/ radnor area. Glenn mills, they have no truck signs going one way and then on the return there is no signs posted. So i completely ignore those. In court that wont fly. Roadds need to be marked on both sides. not just one. ITs more than one road.

Its a dollar per pound on roads that have weights posted. Those roads i dont tinker with. The ones i ignore are the ones that have a picture of truck with red line going through it and say except local deliveries. I say im making a delivery.

Ok....completely different animal than general freight. I have no clue how your end of the business works. I understand that LTL guys need to drive into residential areas and business areas that have "No Trucks" signs posted as well.

Just the thought that there is a $32K fine out there waiting for a guy that makes a mistake makes me what to hang up driving.

Is there ANYTHING that cop can do that would cost him that kind of money? Anything?

I have a completely different perspective now that he explained that he drives a dump truck and delivers stone, (I'm assuming landscaping/construction materials) into residential areas. I worked in the construction industry for a couple of decades. I would order concrete trucks with 8-10 yards of concrete into residential areas quite frequently for room additions and such. Also, landscape rock. Those guys must drive by "No Trucks" red circles with slashes daily. Maybe there is an unwritten rule somewhere that these guys are "exempt". I'm sure people that know more than me will chime in.
