My radio sounds great but when I roll up the windows it squeals like a pig. Must be a bad ground some where.

What do you guys recommend noise filter or not?
If "Yes" will the $25 one at the truck stop be good?

    Any other recommendations?

    Thanks in advance. ^_^

I've watched the tech I use cure a squealing radio many times. Don't know what he does exactly, but it is more than turning down the talk back. But that is the first thing to try.

I have the Galaxy 959 it has a push button for the talk back as well but that made no difference as well. No clear answer yet so if I install a Noise Filter this should clear it up right?

I tried one of those, too, but I may have bought the wrong item from the infomercial. I had one of my CB rigs hooked up to The Clapper ("Clap on ... clap off!") and I ran off the road while trying to get the right radio turned on to get directions in downtown Charlotte..... :biggrin_25526:

I am at a loss as to how the window can cause a radio to "squeal". I can understand acoustic feedback from the talkback circuit getting into the microphone; the window gives a nice reflective surface for the sound waves.
    :mconfused:
One thought... since you probably have passivated (metal containing) glass for your windows, the RF being radiated from all that excess coax winding around behind the dash no longer has a way to escape the inside of the cab, and it's getting into the audio amplifier of your CB.

Seriously, though, try turning down the power (if you're running more than 4W) and see if the squeal goes away.
