What’s stopping these 19 drivers from reapplying for a CDL? Wasn’t part of the rule to revoke them all and you can prove your legal immigration status to get a CDL again?

The rule that's preventing them?
Seriously, that's it. They're legal to work in the US in any other profession, provided they can get a professional license. Doctor, lawyer, CPA, electrician, plumber, teacher - no problem. Truck driver? Oh no, that's not ok.bryan21384 Thanks this. -
How does that change things?
If the question is about the skill level of non-domiciled drivers then we need to address the skill portion of the cdl test. If it's about legal immigration status, then we need to address that.
This is about neither. It's about making a flashy political point without making any real changes.bryan21384 Thanks this. -
Do they have to legally obtain the qualifications to work in those other fields?
They should as a driver as well.
If they can pass all the qualifications to the CDL same as I I don’t have issue. But if they are buying their qualifications I have a problem with thatD.Tibbitt, Gearjammin' Penguin, kwswan and 8 others Thank this. -

Here you go. Seems pretty cut and dry and if they’re all doing everything legally then there’s probably not an issue. There are 3 types of visas that are legal to obtain a CDL. It also says if they meet the requirements of the new regs that they can obtain a CDL again.Magoo1968, TurkeyCreekJackJohnson and TheLoadOut Thank this. -
I don't want me, my family, you, your family, to be on the road with people who have "no name given" printed on their cdl. These situations often arise from a "non-domiciled" CDL application process, where individuals have limited identification documents, sometimes resulting in placeholders like "FNU" (First Name Unknown) or "No Name Given". The havoc they can cause, and have, and get away by leaving the country on the drop of a dime is just insane to me.

The question isn't about passing the CDL test. If it was then it could be 'solved' by retesting, not banning non-domiciled cdls. It's also not about buying your way to a license, or there would be a massive enforcement push on the CDL mills like HabHab or Titan. It's solely about immigration status.bryan21384 Thanks this.

There is no ban on non-domiciled CDL’s. One can still be obtained given that the requirements are met. In fact, the the FAQ page that I linked in another reply to you, it even mentions where “non-domiciled” should be located on the CDL.TurkeyCreekJackJohnson, wore out and TheLoadOut Thank this.
