DAC is a report from a company called Hireright. Think of it like a driving history much like a credit report.

Im not going to get further involved. Except to say in my last post I used the word IF. I am not looking at your paperwork. Did the people at the collection place use the offical FMCSA chain of custody form? Just because a lab did a drug test does not make it an official DOT test. Like I said I wish you luck.

I am aware you aren't going to respond. But I found out they do use the offical FMCSA chain of custody form.

You are right DAC is not googled that easy. You might try it with TTR search.

DAC is a file kept on drivers BY companies that submit against bad drivers or trouble makers. For example, I had one company lose a unemployment case in Maryland badly after I fought with them in certain ways to assert my right to be able to work. Anyhow when that came down, they made sure to write bad things into the DAC reports to where no one will hire me.

There is a system where the driver can submit a rebuttal into the DAC Reports and continue the drama when it's best to move on.

It's not all bad to have a DAC Reports. For example if you were busted for DUI or DWI in a semi tractor trailer it's automatically under the DAC Reports you can pretty much forget being hired to drive a CDL truck again for at least 5 years. In the old days it's a life time ban.

DAC Reports is not the only record kept. There are PSP, CSA, Insurance results and Court Records along with DMV records as well as Homeland Security, Dept of Justice etc etc etc. A bad driver will pretty much end up back home flipping burgers 20 hours a week and that will be that.

It's bad when trucking companies (The people) become malice, vengeful and otherwise desire to stab those they do not like for a variety of reasons to be sure that the affected driver will not be employable for a while, if at all. As far as I know they also run a Blacklist system which is a ultimate. However each state has slightly different laws vs Blacklist. For example the company in Indiana I had trouble with are allowed to tell other employers on phone I am BL, but are not allowed to write it down. So I check against them every time. If I catch em, then I'll be the new owners when the courts finish up with them.

In my case I have been off the road so long there is absolutely nothing on me in DAC, only one failed orientation in one company dating to 96 on a small list kept by 15 companies thinking they will change the world... and nothing else left anywhere. If I wanted to get back in, it will be just like a newbie, however I have retained my skills and it wont take but a hour to break the rust off and roll.

Could I argue the criteria for the place I submitted is different to DOT standards. I drove to city MD and was told they gave me lidocaine injections when I had a laceration. They gave it to me for stiches. I feel like I lost my career, the time I spent on and in the school.

This is ridiculous. And absurd that there is no appeals process. I will take a hair test and polygraph test.

Do I lose the CDL over this? I have heard people go through some rehab course. Do I need to do that? I keep thinking no, because I didn't do anything. I am still having a difficult time with this.

Thank you all for your comments and insight.

@Artness, please clarify, the drug test was not for a driving job and not for any other job for a carrier?

It was a non cdl job. Driving a minivan to distribute packages. It's contracting company. cornucopia logistics.

I think it was a shady company. I can't get a hold of them over the phone and there is no email address I can find.

Do other / future companies give people a shot with their own drug tests or they just look at that and trash the application.
