Non preventable means not your fault.

Unless you rack up a stack of Non preventable you are good to go.

5 or 6 Non preventable means you are a risk because you are unlucky.

    1 is nothing

I got hit on private property (Loves parking lot) by a driver who hit my truck while I was out jogging and took off. I had a dash cam, got his DOT number, phone number and the cop called his boss and told him if he doesn't report back to the truck stop a warrant will be issued for his arrest. We got a police report for that.

Maybe it varies from state to state. The fact that Loves is open to the public might also have something to do with it in your situation. Regardless, my incident occurred on the company's property and only involved company equipment, with no injuries. Even if I had called the police, and assuming they were allowed onto the fenced-in yard, it would still be on my DAC as a non-preventable. The only way I could see a police report being useful is if the incident had been determined to be preventable on my part and I needed to dispute it. Fortunately, that's not the case.
