Greetings all,
I have been a lurker for some time now. Recently retired young from the Police Dept.(started very young), and am looking to change things up a little. Kids are grown and finished college, wife works a lot and travels a lot. I have held a class A cdl for over 20 years and used to moonlight running into NYC at night for a local company.
You may ask why don't you just relax and stay at home, well I am still to young to do nothing and I am not someone to just do nothing- hence the reason for choosing flatbed.
I was speaking with a recruiter the other day about the North East Regional flat bed. I would just like to hear from anyone that is currently running that area.
The recruiter stated it was a Monday through Friday run with most weekends home, is that really the case. Also, are you guys, and gals getting any miles and is the average pay what the recruiter stated- roughly $800-1,000. Not looking for specific, just if those numbers and the stated schedule are doable.
I am looking to get back out on the road. I am also aware of Westerns reputation as it is on display on various web boards. Not saying I believe everything I read online but there are always 2 sides to a story.
Looking for the truth, and yes I can handle the truth.(Shamelessly stolen from Jack Nicholson)
Thanks,
