I didn't find your post much better. You make it sound like, "hey you get an extra 5 cents, stop complaining.

“There are three types of lies -- lies, bigger lies, and statistics.” That's what I've heard......

I never ever had a payment...All my trucks are 10,000 and under and it is all cash...I write off depreciation over 2-3 years on taxes..

My idle time is minimal.I have a rig master that helps out...

.I am home 5 months a year.I only work about 7 months a year.I have 2 guys that do it for me..They do it in there front driveway at 40.00 an hour..

This is the MAIN reason why i left company driver jobs many years ago.I wanted freedom to do other business at home....I am home alot and only work about 40-55 hours a week according to my logs..

You are correct in some of your thinking.Last year i did something like 160,000 ''gross'' and i brought around 70,000 to the dinner table..But i only worked around 8 months..I can look it up for exact numbers..I have my files in the cabinet

Most drivers in trucking that think we are lying are the ones not making great money doing it...

Would you believe i have a friend who owns a home in Ohio that is paid for.It is worth 700,000 and he is a Driver and has 8 trucks and employs drivers...

If anyone wants to do the Northeast as a company driver by the mile, this is what you will need...IMO..

You will need at least .50 cent a mile. You will need to be paid hourly after the frst 2 hours. This should be $20.00 an hour..You should be offered ''lumper'' money, the same amount as the lumper gets..You should be getting paid 30.00 for all drop and hooks and 30.00 for extra stops after 1st one...

If you want weekend home time you should be getting about 3000 miles in 5 days..But the truth is most get 1700-2300 a week in Northeast...

If you are not getting this, then you are being screwed around and ripped off...

I get 60.00 hour after first 2 hours..I can lump my loads for 150-300...No money for drop and hooks.I get 30.00-60.00 for extra stops..I get 2.50-10.00 a mile..All depends..Last week i got a load that went 20 miles sameday and it paid minimum 550.00...

Not really. I am simply engaging Landstar8891 about his business plan for the education of all involved. I don't have a dog in this fight. You on the other hand are walking a fine line, providing little to the discussion other than trolling this thread. I must ask you to stop.

    d o g and landstar8891 Thank this.

I don't need your exact numbers. Your plan works because you are keeping expenses lower by running older equipment and doing your maintenance and repairs in your driveway. I see many O/Os who are married to the truck and can't afford to take any time off because the fixed costs are so high. Personally I want nothing to do with a truck when I am off. I pull a tanker and make in the mid 60's working about 230 days a year as a company driver. I do some northeast but not a whole lot. My company spreads the crap around to everyone. Good information. Thanks

None of this has anything to do with the thread topic or Prime. I think all of us who post in the Prime forum would appreciate taking the discussion of Landstar BCO financial problems over to the Landstar forum. Thanks in advance for your understanding.
