So, next time you hit it, make sure it falls on their property and burns it down ;)

20yrs ago NOBODY would have been caught pulling in to a parking spot. I still won't! I was always told it was done by lazy drivers. Not saying anyone here is lazy. Just saying what I was taught and told.

No, obviously you don't get it. We're all out here working, there's no reason I shouldn't be allowed to park in a spot if I'm bobtailing. Why park at Walmart when I can park at the truckstop and get a shower. Also, I wouldn't want to park where the cars park because then people would be closing their doors as the four wheelers come in and out.

Forget that, I need to hear idling trucks with straight pipes in order to sleep.

The one thing I don't get is people say they nose in to get away from the noise or whatever other reason, but you'll rarely ever see anyone facing the wrong way in pull through spots. Doesn't add up.

I'd rather back into a spot where I can see where I'm going against stationary objects on either side. Backing out blind after nosing in against moving traffic isn't my cup of tea. To each their own.

Well, if it comes between me getting a good nights sleep because I don't have to listen to some jerks poorly maintained truck leak air all night while idling in 70 degree night time temps with a reefer on stop/start and his windows down with his TV blasting at full volume (after all, who can hear the TV when your windows are down and the truck is idling?), OR people thinking I'm lazy because I'm nosed in? Ya, I'm gonna nose in, thanks. ;)

And I gotta totally agree with OP on this. I can't count the number of times I have parked WAYYY out in BFE, like on the complete OPPOSITE side of a lot from the actual truck stop, for some peace and quiet, or nosed into a spot that maybe had some open spots next to it, only to have some jerk park next to me that who's air compressor HAS to cut in and out every minute or so ALL NIGHT LONG. :biggrin_25510:

A little common sense should tell you I parked my truck in a quiet spot for the QUIET, not the quick access to the woods.

Hey, if it's the last spot in the lot, no big deal. But if you are going to idle anyway, what is the use of nosing in? I just don't get it.

I used to do that all the time when I drove. Real easy I would head right for the back row where it's really open and throw my truck in facing the curb. This also worked as my anti Werner ,Swift JBHunt moneuver . I kid you not . I saw 2 swift tractors snash their gril on my trailer and one time in the Joplin Flyin J I got woke up by a JBHunt container. Go ahead bag on my trailer all you want , I'm sleeping.

Apparently a lot of folks. And your comment about between the lines will of course be a whole new thread. (wish everyone would though) park between the lines I mean. :)
