Yup, I've only had my CDL for almost 2 years...but I started driving when I was 15. I turn 32 in april so that's what...17 years. I started driving with my uncle when his knee really started giving him problems and helped him on longer runs instead of going to school. I never said I knew everything about trucking or that I was a master driver...because there is no such thing regardless of how many years or miles someone has driven. The day you think ya know everything about driving is the day you need to get out of your truck and never get back in it again....before u get yourself or someone else hurt.

As far as backing into other people parked at the truck stop...if ya get in a bind and you can't see what's going on just get out and look. That's worked pretty good for me and I havent backed into anyone yet. The trick is setting yourself up for the spot and it goes right in. ANYONE that thinks nosing in is ok probably has a brother named Charlie Babbit and plays a mean game of blackjack!!! Y'all can come up with all the excuses in the world why it's ok to park backwards...but it's still parking backwards. It's just plain lazy and inconsiderate to other drivers. Yeah there's more than just you and yourself trying to co-exist on the road and truck stops. Not to mention ya raise the chance of hitting someone or something backing out of that spot if the one ahead or behind you isn't empty in the morning.

And as far as being able to run 1000 miles...I haul frac sand and do this on a regular basis. It's part of the job. Gotta run your butt off and sometimes ya pray that the well goes down so ya can finally get a break. And all the butt references are getting pathetic. Just like on the radio...sure can talk big but never will pull over and run your mouth in person. If your truck does over 60mph and you think your such an awesome driver your welcome to try and keep up.

How about calling drivers who park nose-in "not professional" just because you don't think their reasons are valid? Maybe you got some growing up to do yourself.

    Just saying. :biggrin_25522:

If I hit something backing out of this spot I am parked in,I bet it will leave less damage than if I hit somebody on the road, with whom I must co-exist,since it is not just me and myself on the road, after driving 1000 miles on a regular basis, hoping that a well goes down,so that I can finally get a break.
But I am the inconsiderate one.

I hardly see stating an opinion as name calling, but whatever floats your boat man.

As long as there is plenty of room, who gives a crap how you park? Ive had many truckers thank me for nosing in so they dont have to listen to my reefer. In addition, sometimes nosing in gives me a better angle on my truck for sleeping,

I havent met anyone in real life who gives a crap, its perfectly fine to nose in. And many times its actually more difficult to nose in. Most people who nose in, do it because they want a quiet night. Whats worse than nosing in, is the inconsiderate that idle all night in nice weather.

So whats the big deal? lol some people.....

######, after reading this thread, I've decided that I'm gonna pull right out of this spot that I backed into earlier, and turrn this truck around, and nose it right in, just despite our friend Rooster. Who, after reading his posts, makes me realize he's a great troller. Bravo, good sir.

Trying my best to not mention any names, but while sitting here reading this absolutely comical thread and noticing not one, not two, but three trucks nosing in beside each other, the last one to do it cut it waaay too short and just hit the trailer next to him at about the center of his trailer! LMAO, y'all go right ahead and nose in, it gives those of us without a vuecube some free entertainment.......lol, you just can't get this stuff on cable! :) However, in their defense I'm 99% CERTAIN that each one of them had a perfectly valid reason for parking backwards, err forwards....err, well NOSING IN! :)

...and what do you think the nose of your truck would look like if it had been hit in the same manner as that other guy's trailer? You'd be missing your hood, down for a few days waiting for repairs, not making any money...not to mention your safety record would be dinged because you were involved in a parking lot incident.

And you're making fun of the guy for pulling in? That simple act just saved him quite a few headaches.
