    Yea really.

I forgot to add that I prefer nosing in, it seems theres always somebody eyeballing you. Plus I can wake up, looking like a disaster and stumble around the truck waking up and not have anyone staring at me. lol

Occassionally though, I find my myself backed in, and just watch, sometimes it is good entertainment to just watch everyone park.

Saved him headaches? Are you kidding me? The driver that got hit has damaged door hinges and is pissed. The driver who did the hitting is likely new (based on the company he drives for and his comments on the radio) and it all could have been avoided by several things, ONE of which is not nosing in. You see the first guy nosed in was sticking out a tad, the second guy was sticking out a few feet further and, well, we know what just happened to the last guy.

He just learned that it is easier and safer to watch your trailer in the mirror and back straight up than to hook his truck around that trailer........watching where he was going, but not his trailer.......KARUNCH! You're right though, if the second guy wasn't nosed in he likely would have his hood tore off like the guy in the next row up from two hours earlier. I must point out though, that none of them would have been hit had they all pulled up and backed straight in, just saying :)

How do you know? Maybe his backing is worse than his nosing in. lol

I say nosing in is more difficult, and should only be attempted by a professional.:biggrin_2559:

So they stick out an extra 6-10 feet sometimes. A true professional will easily clear the minor amount of extra length sticking out of the spot. Most of the time it makes almost no difference. I dont understand the big deal.

...and since I cannot control what the next guy is going to do, I will do what I can to make sure my stuff is protected. It is MY truck, but it is a COMPANY trailer. Damage the truck, I'm down until it is repaired. Damage the trailer, company tells me to hook to a different trailer and I keep working. Even if it was my trailer, the back of a trailer is a heck of a lot stronger than the nose of the tractor.

Now if that driver is pissed off about some damaged door hinges, imagine how he'd be reacting if his hood was laying on the ground!

Back in if you want to, but I've seen plenty of people get backed into as well. Watched one genius backing in with his radio off...I know his radio was off because the driver in the space next to him was trying to tell him to get out and look because he was getting awful close to his truck, but to no avail. Driver hit the air horn to get this knucklehead's attention....and instead of stopping to figure out why the air horn is blasting, he mashes the throttle and slams into the truck next to the empty space he was trying to get into....said he thought it was an impatient driver getting upset at how long it was taking him to back in.

Point is, ######### drivers attempt to back in, too....and if one is trying to get into the space next to me, and if they are going to hit me, I'd prefer they make contact with the trailer....NOT my truck.

I don't like backing out of a parking spot when nosed in and rarely do it unless its straight line in and out for some peace and quiet.
