I thought they all backed in because they couldn't drive in and keep it straight

Well here's a new one for the thread. I nose in because I hate getting pee splattered all over my door and battery boxes.
Oh darn I must be unprofessional. And for all the assbags here telling these guys and gals old enough to be your grandparents that they're unprofessional - I'm sure if they wanted your opinion they would give it to you. Hell I don't have much experience either but I know how to eat the #### pie you should try some. It's VERY GOOD! -

I nose in when my A/C fails on hot summer nights. It does no good to roll your window down for a much-needed cross breeze to cool off if all you are going to get is the heat rolling in from the engines on each side of you. Nose in and get away from the engine heat. It makes a nearly unbearable situation a little better.

Luckly, I don't spend much time in truck stops anymore so it doesn't matter. In the winter we nose in at the yard so we can plug in our trucks unless the temps are going to be in the minus 30s and the boss wants us to leave them running then we back in. In the summer, we all back in at the yard. -
All I care about is me. I don't care about anyone else...that's why.

I've nosed into one parking spot in the past year and a half, and it was only because there were a dozen of us making circles looking for a spot and it was the only way I could get one. Got lucky that it was pretty easy to back out of, but hard enough that I make every effort to never have to do it again.
However, I am one of those drivers that start running in the middle of the night, when truckstops are the fullest. I leave when trucks are parked in all sorts of unmarked spots, lined up at the end of rows, and parked two deep next to the scales. Parking lots are much tighter then, so I have to put a lot of effort into picking a spot to back into to anticipate where trucks will park later so that I will have room to pull out when I need to. Lots of nights it's still real tough to pull out and the added difficulty that would have come from nosing in would often leave me either stuck or waking people up.
While not an option for me, I do see the point of why some drivers do nose in. Considering that I have been hit four times in the past year by drivers backing in (just my hood mirror and never touched my hood), I may actually understand it more than most.scottied67 Thanks this.
