I found another reason. This morning another driver woke me up knocking on the door to tell me I had an oil leak. It dumped about a gallon of oil on the ground from saturday afternoon to this morning.

you know backing out of those angled parking spots are no problem at all. nor is nosing into them any problem either.

That ain't the best of reasons. I'm glad he found it for ya, but I'm sure you know ya can't count on someone else doin' that for ya.

I never left a parking place regardless of how long I'd been there without at least doing a walk around and lookin' under my rig.

One of the down sides to nosing into a parking spot has to do with the height of the curb at the back of the parking lot. If the driver has an aerodynamic type bumper he/she may hook the plastic on the curb and cause damage when trying to back off of it in the morning. Seen this happen a few times to new drivers. Of course situational awareness and "experience" has already taught us older drivers about this particular problem.

They're taught that there are six sides to a truck that need to be looked out for. The bottom is one of them. Therefore, this is just stupidity.

I have a hell of a time backing in to those angled spots, like in Jubitz for example, so I tend to nose into those. Backing out is easy. I don't know what it is about those 45 degree slots, but they kick my butt every time; I end up pulling up a couple of times and aggrivating everyone with my backup alarm. But a 90 degree is a world of difference.. I can do those almost blindfolded. Seems like it should be the other way around!

I backed into a spot last night, then this morning, I pulled out, made a u turn, and nosed into same spot.
I did this to face the sun, thus keep the trk warm without having to idle.

I don't face the truck into the sun when it's cold unless it's less than 10 outside. Cold weather doesn't bother me anymore. I may be a southerner but I had a crazy ex in 5 degree weather than would sleep with the window open, window fan on high and the AC running it's ### off. I got used to the cold quick when I moved to MN.

I nosed it last night. Was in WY couldn't get an internet signal to at all. But the motel 6 by the truck stop had free wifi so I nosed in to the spot closest to the motel to get a strong signal.
