So last year I was going through town when a car just pulled out of a parking lot without stopping, I did what I could to avoid it, I was doing 33 MPH, changed lanes and they hit the middle of the trailer (tanker). I was 105k, ran over the hood, driver and passenger went to the hospital, (this was last year by the way). No tickit, plenty of witnesses and my dash cam. Put in an application and didnt put it down and they asked about it, I didnt know it was reported, they said its not a big deal I just need to send the accident report, but how long does it show up for? Anything I can do about it? I have seen 3 years, 5 years and never. But figured there might be something I can do about it...
Not a new driver but have a question.

Sounds maddening

Sonce there were alleged injuries it will be listed as dot reportable accident even though clearly looks like they were at fault..
Coloradoman Thanks this. -
They were, they got a ticket and a repair bill for the side box and a tire. I just didnt know ot was on my record till today.D.Tibbitt, drvrtech77 and Walk Among Us Thank this.

Does it say "unavoidable"? Because that's as good as not having it on your record.
-
I was told all it says is " an accident with two injuries and a towaway" nothing else.Walk Among Us Thanks this.

Anytime you get in a wreck and police report is filed, it is tied to your record... I have 3 reported accidents on my record from other peoples stupidity and go thru the same headache anytime i want to get a new job... Although the company can see you are listed not at fault and it is basically no big deal at all.. just make sure u put it on the hiring forms.Lonwolv54 and Coloradoman Thank this.

Because of the injuries and the tow, that’s a DOT Reportable Accident. 3 years.
Coloradoman Thanks this. -
It’s on your PSP report and will be for 5 years.
