We've all made mistakes at some point or another, with varying consequences. This one was yours. You manned up, accepted your responsibility... that alone gives you a lot of over many people currently in this industry.
Best of luck to you in your future endeavors.

I spent a little time with the 7th CAV in 04 and 05 it was SOP that didn't move a vehicle in confined quarters without a ground guide. Unless you were on the run, we weren't allowed to run. A humvee was the largest thing we had which ain't big but a ground guide was manditory. It saved lives I'm sure, not that the U.S ARMY is always right in their training but if we communicate and you are sure that you are my ground guide you had better not let me hit something cause you are unsure. mistakes can still happen but it shoulders 50 50 between driver and ground guide. Its different if some guy appears in your mirror and is giving the mon back wave than a co worker charged with swamper duties. "helper"

    What he said ^ plus:

A smart man learns from his mistakes, but a WISE man learns from other's mistakes.

Be wise, learn from the OP's mistake and thanks to the OP for sharing and best of luck in the future,
