If he can balloon up to 300 lbs, slip on a pair of flip flops, lose any mechanical knowledge he might have, withstand the sound of plastic flapping in the wind, and put some tape over the “engine will derate soon” message, he could see how great aerodynamic and environmentally friendly trucks can be.

You would soon find out if you got to drive one for a day. Rides and drives great and plus you feel a sense of pride that makes driving enjoyable

Imagine driving a truck with oil changes every 50k. It would burn a gallon of oil in 500k, during the first 100k, and you didn't need to do bearing rolls...

New trucks... I wouldn't buy one, just use it for 400k or so and get another. Shop horrors are from Megas that go in and tweak the wrong stuff or do something stupid to it.

You don't need to suck on a GPS to drive a new truck. :)

As a matter of fact I've driven one before, any truck rides great if it's taken care of....I think the second part of your post is what motivates this whole thread. Me personally I feel that sense of pride regardless of type of truck I drive. There's an image that is associated with truck drivers....big, loud, powerful, fast, shiny pipes on the sides. Driving that long nose pete or kw, or even a Freightliner classic will draw attention, it'll make people think, "yeah that's a truck driver." I'd tell those people, this is my prostar, and I'm just as much a truck driver as the guy in that Pete.

Me and a buddy just had a discussion about drivers that swear by peterbilt trucks.....what if they found a company, went to orientation, and the only pete available was pink? Y'all think that hypothetical driver would still drive it?

I would. The "classic" hood style is the only one that can pull off pink. A pink aero truck... No way.
