Bridges. No problem.
Its the tunnels that get me
I hate having to do the Chesapeake bay bridge/ tunnel
but that's just me.

The one on US-231 out of Owensboro, KY into Rockport, IN is a cool bridge to cross. And as far as tunnels go, you gotta LOVE the Squirrel Hill Tunnel in Pittsburgh! LOL

Either get over it or find another career because you are going to be crossing a lot of bridges every day. Not to mention the amount of times you will get stuck in traffic and end up parking on a bridge! Maybe after your first trip across the "swamp bridge" on 10 in LA will take care of your fear! I believe its twice the length of the one to Key West!

Just look at how short the concrete wall on the side is. Just tall enough that when you hit it, you tip over giving the best chances to land on your roof when you hit! Hehehehee

It is true that you can get used to anything. I never told anyone this but when I was new I was nervous about trucks passing me or me passing them as I felt like we were so close to each other and wobbling around. Now I can do it one handed while on the phone during a construction sight while looking at the workers. There is a bridge in Cairo, MO that is the tightest I have ever been on. Pay attention to no shoulder space and oncoming traffic in the pic. Gets really tight when other trucks are passing on the other side.

I've been dreading the first few trips across the Champ Clark bridge in Louisiana, MO, otherwise known as the skinny bridge. It's bad enough in a car and I've seen it from underneath...

I moved here from an area that didn't have as many bridges and they weren't that long. The first few trips over the Mississippi in a school bus had me holding my breath. You get over it eventually. You'll be fine.

I disagree, the fall doesn't hurt you a bit,the sudden stop at the bottom can mess you up pretty good though. LOL

You'd better get over it or find a different profession.

I had a student whom I found out in downtown Portland, OR was terrified of bridges and as it turned out being next to a guardrail on a mtn pass. He was a danger to us and all those around him and it was obvious he wasn't getting better with time so I failed him out of the program.

Mackinac Bridge in winter is my favorite...the truck tracks trying to find the grooves in the road...and the wind and ice don't help either....
