you should check those things before you leave the yard--and then take it right back--or request another truck
this time of year i wouldnt be driving a truck with no heat or no window washer -
You left with nothing fixed? Why?

Any time you get repairs done make sure everything is to your satisfaction. As for the changing preplans there could be several reasons for that. Sometimes its the planner that is sending your preplan. In my experience they don't look at the times the computer calculates that you can get there. Other times appts change, city codes may be wrong if the order has been built incorrectly. Id suggest speaking with your DM and find out what's up with the preplans, maybe they just want you to use them as a guide. If you need to send a load confirmation or preplan confirmation do it for the earliest time you can safely and legally deliver for. If its earlier than the appt you are given ask to reschedule or relay.

They change the preplan? Keep it in your Qualcom. You accepted it off the info they sent you. If they change it do a mac22 when you pick it up and tell them why. Make sure you put it back on them. They can repower it if they can. They can reschedule it if they can. Or THEY can take a spanking!
My DM went nuts when I was home once. I got the text on a load. PP said 48,000lbs! Puts me almost 2000lbs over gross. I declined and gave that reason. That weight was erroneous. I didn't know that. I went home ate supper and took a nap before delivering my load. I ended up taking it after the planner sent a message that they weren't that heavy. My DM was home before I got to the truck. -
well thanks for the info. i did check most of the stuff. put in for home time 2 weeks out. got home 8am sat had sunday off and had to deliver a load portland monday am wanted my three days off. not. got pulled into a dot full inspection 30 miles out of fontana ca well lardo did not fix the air leak they said they did. #2 air valve on tractor was leaking. he let me go as far as fontana 30 miles out. yard was full of repairs so went to the t a did a mac 55 didnt want to spend the weekend in ca, they changed the valve that night. thursday pm that is. now in portland oregon truck in the shop may be out thursday or friday i will not leave unless everything is done this time. now my #1 tank will not fill above 92 takes 20 minutes for #2 tank to fill now my gauages bounces back and forth when the truck is shut down when you open the doors. think the truck needs to go away but they say they have no trucks here to give me like they did in lardo. was to get our team truck 2 weeks ago. hard running team in a solo truck. so now in the motel things have to get better. was told we are getting a pay raise has anyone else here that? does anyone else truck keep breaking down and preplan get change? i have saved my preplans thanks for the info on doing a mac 22 never thought of that. any advise is always welcome

Sometimes you've really got to nag the shop folks, especially when you've got a long list of needed repairs. They like to fix just one or two, then send the truck on it's way. They are hoping you won't come back and someone else in some other shop will have to deal with the rest of the problems. A large number of Swift mechanics are lazy or incompetent or both. Bottom line is, you need that truck fixed, and it's up to you to see that it is, even if you have to pester and pester and pester and pester......

Sandy sounds like you need a new governor on the compressor.
Did you hear a leak when you got it out of the shop? If so why drive it? -
Hey, my name is Brian I have my CDL A with tanker and hazmat I am a recent CDL school grad. I am supposed to start orientation on Feb. 21st in Harrisburg. I was wondering if anybody could let me know how it is to train and work for Swift. Any info would be helpful. Thanks

Brian...I suggest you read thru some of the threads in the Swift forum. This thread is specific to the title. It would be better to make a new thread or read thru the ones posted as many others have asked the same thing.
thxdingler71 Thanks this.
