@Concorde i had to do 34 twice in the past 10 days due to layovers
some did show me settlements but I found it odd that the settlements were 1 from this month 1 from another month.
@Chinatown @Redfish I am looking real quick at marten and the inclement weather pay already caught my eye. CRE said safety is top priority but I told my DM my check didn’t reflect that.

Seems hitting people has become normal now. Nobody really gives a second thought.
TheLoadOut, Magoo1968 and JoeyJunk Thank this. -
Whatever you do jobwise will be affected by what you do now… do not rush trying to make money when on a load because you already have a preventable on your record . Knowing that I’d tighten the belt a bit and stick it out for a full year to improve my driving record..
bryan21384, newtothisrgv and TheLoadOut Thank this. -
Currently clearing 1k per week, correct?
Unless you can pay that contract off....stay put if you can stand it.broke down plumber, bryan21384, newtothisrgv and 3 others Thank this. -
@JoeyJunk thanks for the hope.
@snowmantrucking101 the school contract? Yes I am. Not clearing $1K ATM that’s my issue. Right now my average for the past month is $850 I was making just under this at my old job. This is why I’m frustrated, I left my family for $100 a week more, just doesn’t make sense. -
Ask C R E about a dedicated acct. What doesn't kill ya makes you stronger.broke down plumber, bryan21384, Albertaflatbed and 3 others Thank this. -
As your experience level grows -- you become worth more.
But this is not an overnite thing. It takes time.
The above poster is right -- that 1st year or so in the saddle is easily the worst.
Do your absolute best to get/keep a good safety record (i.e., accidents/incidents/tickets).
Later on -- if you stay in/with it....with a good safety record....you'll be worth good money.
Also -- if you don't already have them -- consider getting the relevant CDL endorsements: tanker, hazmat & doubles/triples.
More endorsements = more opportunities = more $$$$$$$$$ later....
-- Lbroke down plumber, Gearjammin' Penguin, bryan21384 and 2 others Thank this. -
Do you have endorsements?
-
Actually, paywise, you're doing pretty well for a new driver, just beginning the career.
Marten has a minimum weekly pay guarantee, but not sure the qualifications for that.
You can do really well with a linehaul or tanker job. Where is your location?
Those linehaul jobs require all the endorsements.bryan21384, Albertaflatbed, newtothisrgv and 1 other person Thank this. -
Yes, it was directed at you, and that's the point, you're not taking offense.
