This is true! Many don't listen though. Here's a few companies that hire new CDL graduates and you can make from $55K - $65K your first year as a solo, after all training in complete. I stress, after all tanker training is complete and you're solo.

    Trimac
    Superior Carriers
    CTL Transportation
    Schneider Bulk
    SVTN

Little lower pay, but still in the $50K range:

    Melton Truck Lines
    TMC
    Maverick

    Boyjr87 Thanks this.

Newbs behind a tanker is scary with out any tractor trailer experience if you ask me. I'd be curious to see any company hauling fuel or chemicals that would hire a newb driver.

I would like to hear from a few of these FIRST YEAR WONDERS in that $55 to $66 K bracket , been in trucking a long time and know a lot who do not make that working for the companies listed above.

I just listed 5 of them. Several posts on here from newbies being hired for hauling fuel also; one of them with Loves truckstops and one with Sapp Bros. truckstops. Another just this week posted he was surprised when he was hired to haul gasoline locally and happy to get the job. The hazmat/tanker company I worked for hired 2 right out of CDL school and they were as good as the experienced drivers after going through orientation and a one week tanker school at company expense.

Last company truck I drove for hired Rookies... 50K-60K is possible if you wanted to run through weekends, 85% of the fleet went home on weekends

Ok, youre 2 weeks out. You dont have an average anything yet, lol. Still, i did more miles than that in the northeast my first few weeks. Wait another week, if ur not getting 2k miles, talk to your fleet manager. Teaming is awesome money tho.

Why do so many ppl doubt us newbs, newbies, rookies, etc etc..like we're incompetent and should all be working for some van carrier making .25-.30 a mile? "like whattt!, a newb making .45-.55 a mile..no way!!" :biggrin_25511:

TMC drivers aren't getting the miles right now either, seems like Steven's is the only one out there giving the miles. I'm sure there are more, but that's just the one I know about.

Ive been doing well with miles from the start with usx. Not amazing, but good. Ive been on a team fleet the whole time tho, i think that may have helped me get better runs when i was solo, lol.
