That's because they don't want anyone calling them, which would tell me if I was looking for a job that the ad is some kind of scam or not on the up and up. It's really no different than if there was an ad in the newspaper for a job and no phone number or company name. Kind of pointless.

That's what I'm say anytime I see no company name I automatically think scam. At least for me I have to do research on anything especially something coming from Craigslist.

That's required by the DOT, but Craigslist tends to draw the problem drivers and then they read that. Oh no! :)

Craigslist is more of the 1-3 truck operation looking for a cheap driver.

Another thing that hurts is they require a resume which cuts out a whole bunch of qualified applicants. Not many have the resume writing skills and like simple applications. Resumes are more for college graduates. I put my resume on CareerBuilder one time and the phone rung off the hook for a year and I still get emails since I've changed numbers.

Like others said, not many want to blindly send out their personal info. Especially on scam central.

I would beef up my selection of where to advertise and change the contact methods. The recruiter is green. Fire them, lol.

I almost have to move this thread to Seek Employment but I'll let it slide. :)

This is my opinion exactly also. So proud of their company but afraid to post their name.

I disagree. I got my last couple of jobs through craigslist. They most definitely were not 1-3 truck operations looking for cheap drivers. Those small company ads are on there too, but they're not the only ones that use the site.

I'm going to disagree with this one as well. Just because someone has previous experience and can drive, doesn't mean they're automatically a qualified applicant. This company is obviously looking for individuals who are a cut above the rest. They're looking for drivers who don't have to be told not to wear a ratty torn Metalica t-shirt, shorts and flip flops to work. In general, individuals of that caliber are not only capable of writing a resume, but actually have one prepared at all times. I never went to college but I've kept an updated resume since I was in my early 20's. It ain't that hard to learn if an individual wants to take the initiative to do so.

This I'll agree with. But only to a point. Job listings on craigslist are not free so that keeps most of the Nigerian email scammers away. But you do find job posting for jobs that don't exist on there. IME, those ads are mostly trolling to get people to enroll in online college programs. But those scams are usually set up so that only way to respond to the ad is by clicking a link that leads to a company website and then filing out an online application which includes a question about wanting to further your education in the next 5 years. Answer yes and you'll start getting phone calls from college recruiters. As this ad doesn't doesn't require filling out an online app I wouldn't be afraid to apply but that's me.

The not listing a company name wouldn't be a deal breaker for me either, but listing a phone number would probably increase responses. That being said, if I lived close enough to apply, the home weekends thing would be the deal breaker for me. I only take jobs that get me home every night. I think the big problem is the ad makes it apparent that they are looking for cream of the crop type drivers who are willing and able to conduct themselves in a professional manner from start to finish. Those individuals are rare and most are already employed. So its going to take time to find more.

    jgremlin hit it right.
We don't need thousands of applicants just a few good ones that take their career serious.
Surely there are good experienced drivers out there who have a resume or are able to write one....geeze!
It is the basic application with the last 10 years employment as required by DOT.
It is a small company with one guy who will answer the replys from the ad.....I'm sure he does not want a 100 phone calls a day.
Anyone serious can PM me and i will be glad to tell you the company name.

I agree,It is not for everyone but i enjoy it.
Dedicated runs, electric pallet jacks,no tracking or dispatch to deal with.
They email us the routes for the next week,we pick up the trailer and go..
Very little paperwork, just get the routes finished and go home for the week.
Most loads average 5 stops....not a big deal.
Assigned truck, trailer and pallet jack...our oldest truck and trailer is a 2010 model and we are already looking at new KW's...

I am glad that you enjoy this job, that is everything in a nutshell, when you enjoy your job and are content with it, that is what it is all about. I am thinking that you are going to be getting a raise before to long because they have been running these ads all over the country, not just in your location. When you have someone doing you a good job and enjoys their work then you will pay those people more to keep them around, especially when you are having trouble getting new hires that are interested in the position. I used to haul newspaper inserts all over the country, like you, many stops that you could unload twenty four seven with a pallet jack, so you could run them at your own pace, and I really enjoyed that work, CH Robinson came in to our customer and cut the rate nearly in half, and for the customer to get that rate, they had to guarantee CHR all of the freight. I found that when it didn't pay so well, that I no longer enjoyed the work. I am not saying that you are working for substandard pay, I am only saying that the pay must match the irritation level of the job, when that condition is met, you will rarely have to run an ad for help.
