Don't let anyone tell you no local companies will hire you!:biggrin_25512:

They WILL you just have to go out and look.

Everyone keeps saying there are too may QUALIFIED drivers looking for work
to get a job. How come myself and others I know can't get drivers. And it's not
because of pay we pay VERY good.

It varies in form, from Reckless Driving to Reckless Endangerment.

Sorry you had to find out the hard way. But that's how many are finding out now....after they've spent the money for school.

Which serves to make a bad situation, worse.

Too bad "Truth in lending laws" don't apply here.

There should be something schools should be made to do . They should show the current employment status of every student they have turned out in the past 12 months . They should have to list Department Of Labor unemployment statistics for each month for the past year .

Part of me agrees with that, but at what point does it become more of the student's responsibility, and not the school's, when it comes to research? I mean, you wouldn't just up and write a check to Harvard because you wanna be a brain surgeon, would you? And if you did, who's fault is it when you later find out that you don't qualify?
This is one reason why I'm more of a supporter of company schools rather than CDL mills. If you go to Schneider, for example, they're not gonna bring you in and train you if they can't put you in a truck afterwards.

I'm just wondering how I can get those flags taken away or if I can. I might just have to get a lawyer or do some really long research on how to figure out what to do next

It wouldn't discourage anyone in the least. Almost every major company out there, is still running ads for drivers. Even if they haven't hired one in months. Hell, Werner is hammering the papers for students every week. Come train and drive a big truck...make $800 a week.

But as Coonass says, smaller outfits are having trouble getting and retaining drivers. Even new drivers.

I see signs everywhere at outfits needing drivers. But everyone looks at those larger companies, and see beanies and stars. They wouldn't even consider giving a small company a look. Their opinion is, it can't possibly be as good. Where often, it's better.

That's something you should have done before you got your CDL . CDL holders can't get convictions removed .

You got the ticket in 2007, right? You'd probably be better off to just wait for it to drop off your MVR. Call your state DMV and ask them how long it will stay on your record, and what if anything you can do to have it reduced or removed.

I am going to try my best to go to every local company there is in this area! We got Rosebud out here that's a really good company hauling coal I will try them and hopefully someone gives me a break. My Dad is a mechanic and knows alot of people out here and he's helping me to find a job too.

But why are there trucks to put drivers in ? Because drivers keep quitting . They sure aren't expanding the fleet .
