Take the test! Most likely, your over thinking it and you'll do fine. Tons of people in my area fail their first test. If you fail you'll have a feel for the test and have an idea of what to work on. I bet you'll do fine and your just worrying to much. Once you pass the test is where the real learning comes.

I failed my first try, passed on the 2nd. Take a breath , calm down and just do it. You might surprise yourself with how easy you can do it

Walk away from the big bad 18 wheeler and take a break. Then hop back in the seat.

When backing there are two truths.

1- You turn that wheel left, trailer goes right, if you turn the wheel right trailer goes left.

2- Once you start coming round with that trailer, start unwinding what you put into that wheel to start the docking. You will get straighish. Maybe need a pull up.

And that's it. Everything else is your head. Don't stress over it unless there is a uncovered need to go see a mental heal professional? I hope not.

School will not teach a #### thing. Yes that's right. Not a #### thing.

YOU. WILL. Be backing that thing into places where it's never considered in school. Pfth, you can put a trailer anywhere you want. Just follow the two rules I tell you with the addition of getting out and WALKING to the back to LOOK once in a while. You are NOT lazy right? I hope so. Sometimes drivers are fired for backing into something.

one thing on backing small corrections, also turn right to find the trailer, left to loose the trailer while looking out of mirror

Luckily the testing center I am taking my CDL test is where I took my class D test...and it took me 5 times to get the class D because I was so nervous! But I do have the track memorized from that :p I don't know what a 'guarded to pass' setup is, but I've only known one person at my school who passed the first time.

My school has a policy where they won't let students pay for extra time before their first test for this reason. So I'll take it, and if I do fail, then they'll talk to me about paying for more time.

Yes, I have always been my own worst enemy! When I first get to school in the morning, I tell my instructors my goal is to not cry today because I normally do :p

Thank you! That's sweet of you. I can't imagine how someone wouldn't take it seriously, but I've heard stories. My instructors have told me they can see me being a great driver when I get the confidence up for it.
