That's a b.s. statement if the school told you that...

Schneider "offers" you a position ("Schneider National Conditional Job Offer" email), but you are not hired until you pass the Pre-Work Agility test at their Orientation. That first day is "unpaid".

I know, because I just went thru it today. Tomorrow starts my first paid day of training and then or by Weds I should be assigned a company number and "officially" be employed with Schneider.

Yes, Paschall is OK; dry van and trucks have APU's. Schneider will probably send you to Houston for tanker school. Get the tanker/hazmat endorsements and TWIC card.

Yea been to Houston before that's a good lil trip from my house. Right now im just trying to pass the CDL test lol. Twic card I have but it expired in 2013. Should I go ahead and try to pass the tanker test Thursday as well???? They say its pretty hard? I was thinking I go ahead and renew my Twic card and around 3 months later go for that tanker license. By then I should be on the road and learned the end and outs and stuff before I strap a bomb on my tail. But correct me if I should do different. Im just a wanna be just trying to get behind the wheel have no idea what im doing actually.

Should I go ahead and try to pass the tanker test Thursday as well???? Yes, only a page or two in the TN CDL manual...

They say its pretty hard? Who said that? The TN tanker endorsement test is actually easy provided you study...

I was thinking I go ahead and renew my Twic card...
    Good idea to do that...

Well everything seems to be falling in place. I now have all documents needed to take my CDL test Thursday. I have signed a waiver for Schneider already and have a few backup plans lined up Prime,PTL,Werner and couple others I cant think of right now. Now I could use any pointers on passing this CDL test.... I have a good handbook that the instructor let me take home to study. Any other suggestions im all ears thanks.

I talked to two Schneider recruiters this morning, and 1. told me they don't hire more than 50miles outside of Denver(?), 2. They both had to look everything up to answer my questions, had no knowledge of an instant answer to any of my questions, 3. Say they only hire military veterans. If they're not interested all they have to do is be honest, and tell me.

That's a bummer for you PikesPeak - sounded like some "recruiters-in-training" (mine was very knowledgeable) and yes, I live near enough to Nashville to be considered and yes, I'm a vet; however, my recruiter did not tell me they were only looking for vets - she said a $500 referral bonus if I got one of my CDL school classmates to sign on...

I think Schneider hiring has most to do with your home location to their terminals (OCs) and freight lanes. Me, I live 10 minutes from I-65...

    Good luck!
