    The reason is the companies are being advised to go beyond the DOT when documenting previous experience. This is a safeguard against potential 'negelegent hiring' lawsuits from ambulance chasing lawyers loking to get money from the deepest pockets; the motor carrier's insurance.

    The same seminar stated that using the PSP program from the DOT was another good offensive move.
