    Maybe he thought if he drove fast enough once he hit it, he could shake it off & keep going.

    Oh yeah in all of the US there is only one place I deliver to that has an extremely deep train rail that I have to cross and my trailer skirts flex, bend, once even popped off partially but still remain intact. The time it popped off, I just got out and managed to pop it back into its little holder.

    I saw one similiar to that, but the pole landed in a car dealer lot on top of a bunch of brand new Toyotas,,,,what a mess.

    What the hell did he do to that axle? That doesn't look good ( unless if course I'm looking at it wrong or its sitting on top of the pole at a weird angle).

    The axle bent , or the slider subframe is bent . Trailer manufactures are cutting weight . Bent sub frames are not uncommon , sadly . Our shop keep three subframes , can swap out in about four hours. Then we have a frame shop get it back square and TRUE reload springs , etc. be ready for the next one. With today's equipment it takes far less then this to lead to such damage . But I m truly shocked neither the tire or rim didn't fail!

    Yes seeing more major damage from what use to be a minor incident on trailers the last few years
