Yep, the codes went inactive, no stinky expensive regen needed.. The mil is still on, but that thing is going to be on for a few hundred miles and a few on/off cycles without any codes. Me and that stupid little light have been through this before many times

Buy a new one and just let it hang in the air freely
That’s what MYHM would have said if he was not banned, I did that on my Freightliner also
Get a spare speed sensor to keep on hand if you derate then plug it into the harness and let that hang away from the sensor ring on the trans
Your speedometer won’t work and your ELD will not put you on drive But you can get down the road I used the Maze app for a speedometer

    armo Thanks this.

1: this was an inlet sensor, that one doesn't even derate. When it breaks, it just makes the one box run extra hard and waste DEF. Besides, I already fixed it properly and everything is fine now.

2: I've tried your solution before when I did get derated with an outlet sensor. It doesn't work. The truck still senses engine RPMs and what gear you are in. Won't let you go fast anyways. Also, the outlet sensor needs to be able to sniff some kind of amount of pollution that is related to how hard the truck is working. Otherwise it still gets confused and throws a bunch of codes after a while.

Getting derated, you can, and it does work to hook a new Speed Sensor into the harness, leave the old one in place, hang it away from the sensor ring on the transmission, or it will continue to derate, I hauled loads for several weeks from Minneapolis Mn to Tacoma , Wa before I could get it fixed, Freightliner 2013. DD 15 I also had a hand held I could initiate a regen to clear codes with, I never had the outlet sensor go bad. But
The codes on the hand held said inlet, so I hooked in a new one, and let it hang out side that worked for me
Like I said it did not put the ELD on drive, and the tach and speedometer did not work , so I was
Catching hell from the company on my log which
I ended up being able to edit, now you can not edit like that any more can’t argue with what worked

Yeah, I don't know why that didn't work for me. Maybe I was doing it wrong. Anyway, it wouldn't really work for me because Landstar would immediately jump down my throat hard for any kind of e-log shenanigans. So instead, I just had to learn to fix replace them sensors myself. It's pretty easy actually and saves money.
