Im at a loss as im trying to replace my output nox sensor on my 14 freightliner cascadia. Dd13.

Straight up stripped. Ive been trying everything and no luck. Ive now lost my core since ive vut the harness and broke the sensor. What the hell do i do now. Ive had pb blaster on it for 2 days and put torch heat on it. Its glued in. Not coming out. Im about to burn the truck down. Cant even find a 7/8 bolt extractor anywhere either. 7/8 - 6 point deep socket. Heat the pipe. Still might take the threads out. No choice but to replace the pipe.

The local international dealer sells weld on bungs. They are available online. I believe they are 20mmx1.5 for most sensors. If the threads get thrashed, drill it out, grind it flat, weld new bung on.

You are correct on the thread and pitch. We have a bottoming tap to chase threads as Cummins and Paccar inlet is installed in a cast housing. Only one to weldable would be the outlet in the SCR itself.

Do you have a part number for the weld in bung?

Ive litteraly used an o2 sensor socket, 7/8 socket. 22mm socket. 6pt. 12pt. Open end wrench. Crows foot. Everything. It aint coming out and i cant find a 7/8 bolt extractor tool anywhere either

I'm near Edmonton Alberta in Canada. The dealer had a machine shop make.them. Dorman has a part 904-549.
I googled nox sensor bung and found several listed.
Same with temp sensor bungs, although they are more available thread. I bought nuts in the temp sensor thread. I snap one off, I drill a hole next to it. Weld a nut on, and screw in the new one.

And then I use high temp nickel anti sieze. And gently snug it up. So it comes out next time.

So essentially instead of fighting this, i could just drill a hole next to it, just weld a nut on that fits the sensor and screw it in there. This would work?

What if i cant get my welder out to the truck and under it to the output? Could i just jb-weld the crap out of it?

    Rideandrepair Thanks this.

Screenshot_20210228-090754_Chrome.jpg I am not familiar with the layout of the detroit 1 box. If this were mine, cut the sensor flush leaving just the nut. Pound a twist off socket onto the remaining nut. Heat the bung with a torch and make a valiant attempt to remove. If successful a bottoming tap to clean the threads. If the threads get thrashed or it simply will not come out. Grind it flat, drill remaining sensor out. Weld on a bung to the flat surface.
No jb weld will not work.
