My bad, when I refered to Kurt as the the owners son , he had told me his Dad started the company, but I don't remember hearing about him passing. So I just assumed his Dad still owned, allowing Kurt and his brother to run the day to day... opps. Yeah I am a good backing driver, it is all in the set up... I was told the teams will get the long runs, but with the bump up in pay for the shorter runs I can handle that, with USA I took short runs from some of their drop yards less then 50 miles # the same pay as if I was going 3000 miles, here anything under 50 miles is .14 cents a mile add onto my regular pay per mile, then .08 cents up to 100 miles and .04 cents up to 125... I can live with that I think. I do thank you for the information, nice to know a little bit more about the company.
NTB anyone????

I assume you will be running out of the Lansing terminal. I ran out of the Tipp City one. If you ever run into Bill Dover, Emery Phipps, Gordon Smith or Jim Bruns, Tell them that John (cb handle of Poor Boy) says hi. Bill Dover runs out of Newport and the others Tipp City. -
Will do,I see that Bill just had his 18 yrs on the 19th of June, cool! must be a decent company for someone to driver that long for them. I use to drive to a terminal in Vandalia/Tipp city with USA, so I know my way around there. I'll have to learn the others as I go
!!! Yeah I will be running out of the Lansing terminal, I live about 4 miles outside of Charlotte-on M-50 which is exit 60 on I-69, so it is nice and close for me... and I made a mistake earlier it is only.12 cents a mile for the under 50 mile runs... Dean.. cb handle "the Breeze"

I know exactly where the USA terminal is. I drove right by it every time I headed to work.
Again, good luck in your new job. You've signed on with a decent company.Locdrjr Thanks this. -
Thumb's up on the 2nd interview, got the 50 cent tour and was called on the way home to set up everything else, Monday- pretrip, driving test, post trip- DOT physical and pee in the cup. Wed start orientation.... then out for a couple days with a driver to learn the routine at the DC's and them into my own truck... working 5 days and home 2 ... woohoo
-
Locdrjr ... How did orientation go? Anything I should know??
I was suppose to do it today but had to call and reshedule for next Wednesday and Thursday. I had surgery over the weekend and havn't recovered yet...

Dave, we'll be going through Orientation together then, I get to do the driving test, DOT and drug test next monday, then start orientation Wed morning at 7:30 am.... see ya then, Dean
-
I am hoping to have orientation with them next Wed and Thurs and go out with a trainer for 4 weeks(M-F). My interview is going to be scheduled tommorow morning. I just graduated school today and apparently they really like to hire "students" from the school I attended...
Does anyone know if you bring the truck home for your weekends off or am I going to have to drive the hour back and fourth to lansing? -
No the trucks stay at the terminal, that is the only down side so far, but it is your truck, nobody else drives it I was told when I asked. -
I took one day off for a doctor appointment and when I came back to work, my truck was in Michigan somewhere.
Once, I ran into another of our drivers in Indianapolis and he was driving my truck and I was driving his. We had to get dispatch to switch us back.
Also, if you talked to a recruiter named Dale Arnold, take everything he says with a grain of salt.
