nope, you were right , the driver who took me out for my road test gave me the lowdown on it, matched what you said. still not enough to stop me from working there, that is a minor detail really, seeing how I live 20 minutes away and am only going out 5 days , I really don't need to pack the truck full anyway. didn't get to start orientation until next week, had to get my doctor to sign off on the DOT, guy tried to tell me I was diabetic, I just had compleate blood work done in March, but that don't count... oh well I can wait a couple more days..
NTB anyone????

Orientation isn't bad. The first day was every dept. coming up and telling us about different things and today was all safety/hazmat test... Beth comes in and does most of the stuff on the first day as far as the HR stuff and benefits.
I leave out Sunday with a trainer but with the account I am on, I should be home every night. -
Cool, that's a good deal for you, man coming out of school I was gone 5 weeks on a truck before I made back home... Orientation doesn't sound to bad either, if I would have got to start this week with you guys I was going out at 3am fri & sat to learn the procedures of the DC's we deliver too, then was going to have a truck on sunday or monday...

Yes very good deal for me. The first two weeks I am out with a trainer we will be running the Target DC so I will be home every night(Plus the guy only has a mid cab so no bunk). The last two weeks I am running with a trainer for the Meijer/other runs and I will probably be out 5 days.. Then I get my own truck and will be back to the Target route with more home time. I am VERY fortunate to get that being a newbie. See ya out there!

Well I just got finished at the Doctor's today , blood work and urine checked,, all is great, not even close to being diabetic, my blood sugar level was just 114, was told by my doctor, that the total they claimed was in your urine would have put you in a diabetic coma, it was all the way to the far end of the scale??? that erks me all little as I had to pay for this out of my pocket , like the car I had to rent to get home after Celadon tried blowing smoke up my buttocks back in march. Man I sure am glad I saved all that USA truck money...LOL
ChancexTaker0827 Thanks this. -
Good luck at orientation, it isn't too bad. I do know that the company chaplain has called me the last two days so I need to call him back, I assume he calls all the new guys at the company though(been busy installing mother in-laws tile floor before I leave). Lunch they provide is also decent. The first day they give you a sheet and you pick which sandwhich/chips/drink you want from Heavenly Ham and the next day they ordered pizza from Jets Pizza. The first day is the longest and you will be there till probably 5 or so, and the next day as long as people are not asking too many questions you will be out by 2...

Does NTB still run O/O ? It's been a while since I was up that way, I talked with a driver who was leased to them (at the Petro in N. Baltimore, OH.) and was really happy. This was a few years ago ... Good luck to you guys, I hope it works out for y'all !

I remember the truck stop at N. Baltimore very well. It used to be a "Orange Ball" and was our main fuel stop until they built terminals in Lansing and Tipp City. -
Yeah , Rich told me the same thing , keep the war stories to a minimum and you'll be out of here by 2pm... sound like a good deal on the grub, I just went back over to the clinic in Lansing this morning to turn in my paperwork for the blood and urine re-exam I did yesterday, and the doctor the(not the same) only signed my card good for 1 year??? that place is a joke, I am going in 1st thing monday morning and see that other doctor after I talk to NTB, I feel someone owes me $85.00 to prove I wasn't Diabetic, which I knew before I went , but they refused to retest me that day....
