Ok , thanks , I was going to call April in the morning, I faxed the papers in to Tipp city yesterday but nobody was there when I called , so I wanted to make sure they had them or I would fax them again. Then I could also get everything set up to get orientation started and get out there driving again... I have golf'd and fish'd enough already this summer...![]()

I called April this morning and got the green light to start Wed. morning, will have my own truck next week. Thanks again for all the information "Poor Boy" and I will keep the list of driver you named on me and if I run into one I'll pass the hello from you. Now I can get some miles under my belt and continue to finish the house I started to rebuild before all this drama at Celadon threw a wrench in the gears of progress... NTB was the 1st choice after I left them, I was told that there was a hiring freeze in the area, but low and behold, a little bit of luck and a whole lotta right place at the right time... and here I am

Well this week has been fun. The first day(Sunday) the trainer drove and showed me how they do things at the Target stores and at the DC in Galesburg. From yesterday on, I do the driving. First store was in GR, not to bad except we went in the "faster" way according to another driver and what do you know the drive to the back of the store was set up for trucks to be coming the other direction. A little tricky to get the truck in but I made it without hitting any curbs/people/building... The second run was up to Shelby Twp. Traffic in Detroit SUCKS. Especially being a newbie.
So 3 1/2 more weeks with a trainer and I will be out on my own. I think I will be ready, the school I went to was really good and according to my trainer I am doing better than most all the other trainees he has has and it doesn't take me 45 minutes to dock at the Target stores!!!
Good luck with orientation Dean, from what I have seen NTB seems to be a great company to work for...Locdrjr Thanks this. -
Done with the long 1st day doing all the paperwork, get to finish with the Safety Dept. tomorrow.... Had 5 of us there going through it today ...

Day 2 done, only missed three questions total for all the Hazmat training we did today, 4 tests and 1 group workshop thing. Trainer was assigned to show me the procedures at both Meijer and Target DC's even had the company Chaplin call and welcome me aboard
Very nice experince so far, one of the other drivers was assigned Bill Dover as his trainer. I told Jerry the safety guy about chatting with you on here John, but he asked for your last name I didn't know it , told him your handle , but that didn't help him either... well all the i's are dotted, and the T's are crossed.. time to get rolling.

I know Bill Dover very well and he's a good trainer. I assume the Jerry in safety was Jerry Warnamunde.(sp) I'm not surprised he didn't remember me as I ran out of the Tipp City terminal.
I'm sure the safety guy at Tipp remembers me. His name is Mike M. I can't spell or pronounce his last name so we just called call him Mike Macaroni.
By the way, my last name is Neiser. -
Hey John, yeah that was Jerry's name I wasn't even going to try and spell it LOL I would have messed it all up... I was assigned Randy Benjamin as my trainer and was told by the Chaplin he is a great guy to train with. oh my roadtester was named Alvin, not Lee sorry about that mix up there , I guess in all the DOT physical stuff my mind wandered a bit.

Finished, with the training Friday morning, I asked to stay out a couple more days just to learn the peopenet system better, got to Cincy, OH on monday, went to St. Louis on Tuesday, and even picked up a truck at a drop yard for them in IL on Thrusday and drove it with a trailer of pallets back to Tipp city OH and made my 1st solo delivery drop-n-hook
without a trainer. so far so good I got a phone call about an hour after I got home friday morning and was given my days off Wed-Thurs, and was issued my truck and a set of keys(before I left) could have went back out tonight or I could wait and start Friday.... off we go....
