Sounds like everything is working out for you.
If you get to Tipp and have the time, give me a call at and I'll take you to lunch. It would be nice to see what changes they made since I last drove for them.
I only live 20 minutes from the terminal.

Well just finished my 1st week(end) at NTB got just over 2400 miles got some short haul bonuses and a couple longer runs, made a couple of "people-net" flubs , but nothing to bad, forgot to send in my departure form once and was sending in my HOS info bass-ack-wards for 2 days, got a chuckle from the dispatcher and moved on, got home this morning at 06:30 am and I'm off until 8 pm thursday, Koisher like a pickle... should clear over $700 after taxes with the per-deim pay not bad for a 1st week getting to know the routine still. John, I was in Tipp City, OH twice after 2-3 am and then once in the morining at 9 am getting ready to close out for the day, tried as all heck so I didn't call, I will though. Dean

Dean - Not a problem about the phone call. There was many a time I closed out in the middle of the night and all I wanted to do was eat and sleep.

Update: I been here 3 weeks as a solo driver now, miles each week were, 2448, 2198, and 2129... with the short haul pay I have yet to see a check for under $600.00 for 5 days work after taxes, and have received my medical, dental and vision plan cards which will be active 9-1-08... so far everything checks out , lot of Meijer loads , lot of bumping the docks with trailers, and 2 (almost 3) days off every week so far...

Same story here. Got my first paycheck with a full week of solo driving(did 4 weeks with a trainer) and it was $550 after taxes. Not bad considering it was only 1500 miles. I had 3 days off because of when my bid days fall and when I got done with training. My last week and a half have been 500+ miles per day so I am looking at averaging 2500 a week now that I am on my own and have the hang of things. Being on the Target account, I usually run 2 loads a day both drop and hooks, have been home everynight except 1 in the last 2 weeks...

Hemi, what truck number did you get? I am in 1106...
-
My first week I got 1933 miles with $82.50 worth in detention pay. Have only seen 3 states...
I am sure it will change next week. -
in 4 weeks I have only been in 5 states, MI, IN, OH, IL, and MO

so far NTB has been a very decent company to work for , the pay and the miles are there every week. I am on my 4th truck, 1st was a beater they gave me to see if I could drive I guess because I had a new(old) one 6 weeks later, but someone they slipseated rolled that one and I was assigned another truck for a couple month's and then asked if I wanted a newer model, has super single tires on the drives, a fridge and inverter built in, only drawback it is an Auto-shift, I would rather gear jam,, but oh well... there are some other stuff I could complain about but you can find that at any company, not just in trucking.. over all I would give NTB a 7 or an 8 on a 1 to 10 scale with 10 being excellent... very good company I don't feel like a number, they know my name and use it and the work is steady.
