Good luck to you. Angiograms are a routine thing nowadays. If the stent goes in OK, you feel better in about 10 seconds. :yes2557:

I've had two angiograms in the past. I know what to expect there. It's after that, lol.

I'm looking forward to the feeling better part. I have a real good cardiologist. He's been a doctor for 31 years and did my brothers bypass.

Good luck, Condo! It sounds like you're already familiar with the procedure/s involved. Do you have family there to help you during whatever recovery period you may have?

I'm still alive! My prayers were answered because someone was watching over me. I was inches away from a heart attack. Man, I feel better than I have in a long time!

I arrived at the hospital yesterday morning at 6:30am. Walking in the door my chest and throat was hurting real bad. Then I started hurting between my shoulder blades and I remembered another post in the heart attack thread. They checked me in and got me ready and I was in the operating room around 9am.

They prepped me up and I was fighting to stay awake as I only had about three hours sleep. The operation went great. At one time I could tell the surgeon was having a hard time making a curve where they artery Y-ed. But I was very, very lucky. I had 99% blockage on my right artery right before a Y. He put in a medicine coated titanium stent after the balloon. He showed me on the monitor a replay. All I could see was a very thin wire, then the balloon, and then the arteries filled with blood about a 1/4" wide and went all the way down to the bottom of the heart. I didn't feel better at first, but like someone else said 10 minutes all the pain was gone and I felt better.

Then they put me back in the short stay cath rooms. That bed was so uncomfortable and my back was killing me. They wouldn't let me move and I was in so much pain tears were about to come to my eyes. They gave me Vicoden but I still hurt.

They didn't use the table clamp. They said they had too many problems having to go back and fix problems from it. They just left the catheter in. I had to lay there for seven hours even though the nurse said four. The whole time I was mad at the nurse for not helping me with my back.
One time she come in there with a shot. I asked her what it was and she said Morphine.
I was kind of happy from what friends told me about it. I never had it before. She gave me the shot in the IV and NOTHING. It didn't do a thing and the pain was still there. I asked her if she gave me sugar water, lol. I wasn't the best patient, but I was hurting and had the nurse from hell. I wasn't allowed to eat until 5pm and they brought me about 1 cup spaghetti, 1 broccoli floret, a dinner roll and cherry cobbler. This was a great filling diabetic dinner.

One time the alarm was going off on my vitals monitor. Nobody did anything. Twenty minutes later I pressed the help button and she asked what I needed. I told her about that annoying alarm. Nobody came. Forty Five minutes later I asked again. Again nobody came. One hour later I ripped all the wires off me, got up and turned the machine off. They come in then. I renamed my nurse "Ismarelda" after that mean nurse of Shallow Hal if you all seen that movie, lol.

Then second shift come and they were very nice. They sat me up where my back wouldn't hurt as much and brought me more food. They told me I should be released by 7am this morning. I had my family come back to pick me up. The doctor had problems in surgery as a "code blue in the cath lab" come over the speaker. Then a few seconds later they cancelled the code blue. I didn't get released until 10:30.

I did a little walking around. I'm sore where they went in. All the problems from before are gone. My legs don't get heavy anymore. I'm happy as can be. Now I have to get my back fixed and I'll be like new again.
