Same kind of net tarps we used to cover trash trailers back in the 80s before some lazy SOB invented automatic tarp system.

I envy the ease with which you flatbedders get $3+ a mile on one pick/one drop no touch nursery. Dry vanners scoop up "driver unload" multi-stop loads 7-9 drops like there is no tommorow for $2.50 a mile. I have to wait until late afternoons to grab up anything left at a fair rate I name, many days there is nothing left over like that... I don't mind the work but I ain't in it for nuthin....

That's one of the reasons I never bought a box.

Yeah that's why I'm thinking about picking up a flat before the end of the year. Buddy of mine stays busy for weeks and months on end doing nothing but easy nursery loads with a flat. That day you saw me drive by I grabbed a "cart load" for $3,500 on 7 stops and 1,118 hub miles loaded, plus return cart pay which ended up being an extra $192. The lady was trying to push loads like that on me all day long for $2,500 saying I could come back and grab another one. I told her for all the work it was I'd rather just do one and call it a week instead of working myself to death. She ended up calling me back that afternoon which I never would've imagined. I put in a quote of $3,000 today on an 8 stopper floor load trees going 488 zip to zip miles and they just thought that was the craziest thing ever. She said $2,000 was a round trip rate and that was all they would pay. I intended to come back home empty on that one 988 total miles and call that one a week. They didn't cover it today so I'm guessing there's no hurry to get it moved just yet.

Yeah those floor loads are b&b stuff. They don't push as hard on those as they do the plant & flower loads.
If you get a flat you should be able to load around Winchester pretty easy.

I just did one of those loads a couple weeks ago. Northern Idaho to Truckee CA. Not a bad load. Kind of time consuming loading and unloading. They supplied the mesh tarp and the receiver shipped it back. I don't know exactly what it paid, but was told it was a good rate. I know the boss kicked me $100 for the time spent loading and unloading.
