There is a sign there that says trucks over 3 axles or over 12'6" must exit.. I'm sure they would love writing a ticket if they catch you. I always use the go around both directions, exept a few times driving flatbed. I think 13'6" would fit but not sure and I don't really want to test it out.

Remember, you can lose some height by dropping your bags....haha. Last resort, if you are stuck.

The best option in my opinion is to refuse loads going to NYC. NYC has a length restriction of 55 feet. "Trucks with 53-foot trailers may only travel on the portions of I-95, I-695, I-295, and I-495 that cross the city between the Bronx-Westchester County line and Queens-Nassau County line."

Too many posters posting information is better than no information.

The height is measured from the center of the axle to the top of the vehicle, it's a bit over, or around 12 feet on a rig that measures the 13'6" from the grade to the top of the rig.(normal measurement)

Actual height would help lots, because if they aren't using the city measurement and it is actual, it ends up being about 17 inches lower, give or take a bit.

yeah order those maps that the city provides, they're pretty good. And they're free.

I heard the bridge height signs where all wrong because that's the height they all used to be and people kept crashing into the bridges, so they dug them all down but never bothered to change the signs. I don't know if that's true but that's what I heard.

NYC measures bridge heights from the lowest part of the bridge , so if there's a pipe hanging over a sidewalk that's where they measure it from .
They also account for snow pack and I don't remember the figure .
Generally if the sign says 12'7 its more like 13'7 .
Conduit ave down towards JFK has several of these bridges and ya clear by a mile .
