Hello , I am looking to become an owner operator in late August or early September because I believe this is my best option to getting back behind the wheel after a huge mistake of getting a DUI 2 yrs ago. I know that I am in a uphill battle and there isn't going to be a company to give me a 2nd chance. so, I am going at it on my own. I've worked for Schneider , Richmond Corrugated and most recently Old Dominion Freight line where I thought I would retire. I won't deny that it could be nerve racking taking the jump but I am going to do what's needed to be done to get back behind the wheel and do what I love to do. I will be trying to get any and all valuable advise from experienced O/O's from best load boards to busiest lanes and hopefully develop friendships that I can communicate with when I have questions. Although this could be nerve racking I am also excited that I am stepping out of my comfort zone and starting my own thing. Any and all advise or guidance would be more than greatly appreciated and welcomed. Thank you all in advance , stay safe and blessed on your journey's.

The insurance for the 1st year as an O/O with your own authority would be expensive without your current situation. It will be extremely expensive now. I suggest you get some insurance quotes and what they will require for a down payment. Iwish you the best of luck!!

    (1) it would be advised to remove your name from the post. Keep in mind there are bad faith individuals even on a good forum.
    (2) check Craigslist 1099 gigs, they may have a less than stellar reputation for obvious reasons, but they can be your way back into trucking.
