You can also make good money hauling expedited freight with a sprinter van.

and all you need is a regular DL

And a clean DMV. You still need insurance as well. A single DUI is serious stuff these days. Rightly or wrongly, it is what it is. Not like it was 30 years ago.

I fully aware that I am in a humongous uphill battle but I worked real hard to land with a great company like Old Dominion Freight line and with hard work I know I can get to where I want to be again. I will keep the sprinter van under consideration though. Thanks.

You sound like you have a good head on your shoulders. You'll land on your feet. Complete a SAP. There are companies that will take you on.

Thanks for the words of encouragement , I did complete the VASAP program that was ordered by the courts and my DL has been reinstated unfortunately I have to retest all over for my CDL and all that is in process. I will look into that SAP and I just made a quick call to SRS and am waiting on a call back. Thanks again really appreciate all the info.

TransAm hires company drivers if no DUI within past two years.
I know you prefer to be 0/0, but sometimes it's "Any port in a storm."

Yea, let's just get someone that drinks and drives into a situation where there will be a lot of stress (owning a business).
That's a recipe for disaster if I've ever seen one.

If you are serious about getting back in driving, you are best bet to simply get a job with a second chance company (man I hate that term) until 5-10 years pass from the DUI conviction. You are almost guaranteed to fail until then.

Question? Did you get the DUI in a truck, or personal vehicle? I believe, although don't quote me, that in either case you will have to go through a SAP program, even if you plan to be an O/O.
