Very appreciated , although I have reviewed trans am and the reviews were not good at all getting back in is the bottom line here. So , I will look further into Trans Am and see where it goes. Owner Operator is what I want to achieve and I'm absolutely positive I will get there even if it takes me a little longer.
Thanks for the advice and I will check them out.

Also, the cheapest insurance is probably not the best insurance. That cheap insurance may not be a bargain at all the first time you have a serious claim.
Last Call and Skunk_Truck_2590 Thank this. -
Being an owner operator won't change the fact that the DUI was only 2 years ago, most insurance companies won't insure you until the DUI is over 5 years old. That is the reason most won't hire you now, they can't insure you.

As a new entrant, you're pretty much stuck with Progressive for your first two years. There's no need even wasting your time on anything until you have a solid written quote from an insurance company. Most will require a VIN number too.

Hey I was just wondering how everything worked out for you. I am in similar situation and am looking into O/O.

Your insurance may be so high that you will pay to operate. Ie.. owe money not make money. Guys with great insurance are breaking even in this market. I know this hurts but you may some years go by to earn forgiveness. By then, maybe the market may be better. -maybe
some foreign company from Chicago may lease you on but they may scam you money and suck you dry and put you in a even worse situation. Heck, they do this to guys that don’t have a dui.
I suggest a plan. Wait a few years to go by. Then work as a company driver. Later lease on to company. Showing insurance companies that you have turned around then try. You will still get an expensive first year but it may be doable.
Remember guys O/O are the higher echelon, not what you become when you are not a high value asset. If you get a dui as O/O you step down to a company driver at a low value company or you take time off.Last edited: Oct 18, 2024
