Now that is a bit of a problem. I know for a fact that US Govt loads require a 102" trailer. Every load I have pulled weather I be Army, Air Force, or Navy have insisted on a 102" wide trailer. I also have been to many shippers who require a 102" trailer. Many for your steel load tho don't care, and I'm sure you could get away with it at some places as well.

Besides the pallet issues I doubt you would run into many problems with that trailer, I checked the loads just a few minutes ago and most are 48 loads at 45k. Steel and lumber mostly, a good bit of steel goes your way from N.C. and S.C. Not many will haul it up in the N.E. and with that trailer you would do good.

I have a 45ft. I have hauled lots of loads that say 48. I pull loads off a load board, I just ask what the load is before I accept it. If your going to be in a situation where you can't turn loads down I would get a 48ft.
