This guy is a L/O, but says he has no kids or wife, but does own a home.

Last time, a guy on here said he owned some land and his home. I want to be like that guy. I'll work all my life if I have to.

I could make it with that payment. I wouldn't want to, id have to work more than part time. But i could. Even with a high mortgage payment and kids. Just because some of us don't have a lot of expenses does not mean we couldn't do it, we have chosen not to. Important distinction imo.

4k a month for a truck, a distinction? I call that senseless. You don't need a fancy hammer to hit the nail on the head. I rather pay for a quarter mill home.

Actually, I meant a half a mill home. No nice homes at a quarter mill in socal.

The distinction is it can be done, but is chosen not to be done, vs the implied suggestion that it can't be done with a mortgage and kids as your previous post suggested.

That is what I would call senseless ! I would rather live in a 30,000.00 dollar home in the middle of a cornfield than pay that for a house and all of the socal stuff that goes along with living there !

I pretty much work 1 week on then take 1 or 2 weeks offs. Having no truck or trailer payments is pretty nice. Last month I only worked 6 days because freight is soo cheap. If you're going to be an O/O you need to be able to manage you're money for times like these if you want to be around when the rates come back up. Plus it's nice having a wife that makes good money too.

Change it to Canadian dollars. Could easily be 4k.

Some of us get paid in usd, so in theory it doesn't make a difference ... however, the payment stays the same, but what happens when usd loses strength against cad? It's not really different than playing the currency game for us up here.
