Progressive is his only option and that will come with a radius restriction and a huge price tag!

Outta curiosity I looked up what it would cost for me to get insurance with progressive for the truck I'm currently leasing 2017 T680. For just liability with 1yr of experience in looking at $9280 for a year of paid in full or $2720 per month if paid monthly.

I called him. Nice enough guy. Basically said "forget it" though on starting a new authority even though I'm not that young and have 5 years of driving experience. He said about 1 out of 10 new ventures get approved right now for insurance and the best bet at this time is just to run under an existing authority until the situation improves.

They are great people, and they will tell you how it is, whether you like it or not. Part of the reason I stay with them. Mike knows his stuff. Sorry he couldn't help. Worth a shot

Sounds like I need to start leasing guys on. Seems to be a need for it. I just don't like needing to front all the money for start ups. Been there done that, won't do it again. However I would consider it if guys had the money to start on their own. Buy their plates, get their IFTA, pay their insurance payments. Basically run their business under my authority. I would have to charge some percentage for the risk and exposure. I also have contacts for work. If anyone is interested, let me know. We can talk numbers and figure something out. If not, no worries, just trying to help. I'm sure there are plenty of places setup to lease guys on right now.

    HopeOverMope and RollingRecaps Thank this.
