Simple. General liability claims are for if you have a shop or office that people come to, they slip and fall on sidewalk or step, that’s general liability. Any accident involving your truck or trailer is covered under auto policy not GL. My agent told me in over 25 years he has never seen a GL claim paid on trucking policy. It’s a scam according to my agent.

If you’re hauling fuel, I’m sure they do along with a $5 million umbrella. General freight not so much. All of my customers said they needed it till I explained it to them and they talked to their insurance people along with my insurance people, and they agreed that I did not need to have it. So therefore I don’t carry it.

    jamespmack Thanks this.

Drivers license report shows how long you’ve had a commercial license

yes. they will ask you for your experience and if you lie and they catch it, which they eventually do, they cancel your policy.

I got insurance from Northland in 2008. I had my own authority and was driving for 2 years using Progressive. I told Northland I had been driving for 30 years and got all my insurance. Had them for 8 years before I gave it up.
