    I guess you missed where I inferred you had no balls. :p I think your Navy buddies were right.

    At least you guys don't have the village people haunting you in your dreams. If you pass by berthing, you can hear our screams.

    I currently live in Las Vegas. From Indiana originally.
    Can live anywhere.
    I’d like to get $2.50 per mile.

    @Superbrat --

    In times like these -- to make money, you have to be willing/capable of hauling more specialized freight.

    Because of your endorsements and also your driving record -- I think you're very likely a shoe-in for that. :thumbright:

    As I write this, the following companies are looking for/hiring owner-ops like you...and they are busy:
    • LGT Transport
    • Genox Transportation
    • KAG (their "Merchant Gas Group")
    I'm not sure what rates they are currently paying -- but...once you learn their system, it's clean, easy, consistent work....that the world really can't function without.

    Let us know later how it goes...:salute:

    My average to the truck rate for 37,451 empty and loaded miles for the year is $2.08 at Landstar, if that helps you at all. I know it's not the best but from everything I've been hearing lately, it's not horrible. That's 45 loads with every single load direct shipper stuff. Last year my to the truck average on 101,111 miles was $2.49. I run strictly off the board, no special agent relationships, just direct shipper frieght

    I certainly don't run hard. Wife is with me and we take it pretty easy. We take time off in different locations from time to time and rent a car to run around in. Also, I will sit for a day to wait for a $3 load versus taking a $1.50 load today. Last year I averaged 1,944 miles a week. This year so far it's 1,971. I'm comfortable with that

    Me too. But you'll be lucky if you get $2 per mile.

    I appreciate your transparency.
    Today was a bear at Laredo border.
