Hmmm there are 5 states that have no state tax?
I'm guess you wanted to get away from winter and shoveling. So you didnt leave NY and go to NH? Like most north east trans plants Probably no more than 24 hour drive away. So what part if Florida did you move to?

7 states with no income tax. Alaska, Florida, Nevada, South Dakota, Texas, Washington and Wyoming

Guess I was wrong when i said 5 states. But you must have been wrong also. Because you did not include New Hampshire.kemosabi49 Thanks this.

You are right. No tax on income. They do tax earned interest and dividends though.

Hmmm its 5 states that dont have SALES tax.
But like you said NH has tax on interest and investment income. All I no is when the price is &4.99. I give them a $5 bill and they give me back a penny. Unlike other places where the price is $4.99. The final price is $5.something
Anyway that is far away from the original intent of this post. -
I don't believe NH has a sales tax or income tax (on wages), making it and Alaska the only two states in the country that let you off that easy. Property taxes are high there though, so I hear.

Washington not Florida. I am from the Pacific Northwest originally and was only living in the Northeast as a 5-6 year trial run to see how I liked it. Not a good long term proposition IMO or affordable place to settle down. The people that are from that area of the country originally...that's home to them I understand but it's a bad deal on taxes and COL.
