Folks I am leased to are buying mostly Tadanos now but they still have a bunch of the Groves
I really like the 125 ton Tadano ,It's 8'8" to the inside of the tires so you can block it on the deck and get rid of all the tire flex.
Even though it's a little more work I still jack the ones that ride on tires and block the frame to the deck.I don't like rubber tire crap

The nice thing about having a 10' wide trailer is I never had to worry about outriggers. I did run a beam for awhile. It was actually a pretty nice trailer. As far as RTs go, I have only hauled new groves and one small used one. I never really had a problem with tire flex. I just chained the crap outta it. Then worked my way around in a circle tighting the chains. Only problem there is, I usually ran outta binder before it was all said and done.

    RAG Thanks this.

I was gonna buy a 10 wide trailer but sometimes I wake up early and just want to go when I'm on my way to get one.
You are so right about running out of binder
Each end could be 3 feet long and I still would not have it tight enough to suite me:biggrin_2559:

Having a 10 wide is really nice. Plus you can bootleg empty if you want. Most folks wouldn't know it was 10 wide if you ran into them. I yank signs and flags and just drive.....quite abit. Nobody is the wiser.

The crappy thing about running outta binder is when you go to take them off and realize that the rest are too tight and it takes a while to get it loose. Then you don't have enough left. So you just have to loosen it all the way out and hope you don't get a binder in the face.

Thats why I just frame block them
Once it's solid to the oak I know it aint going anyplace.
I hate humping the blocks but feel better when i'm done and it's solid to the deck:biggrin_25525:

Which is why I gave up the beam. I am 160 lbs and most of the lumber weighs as much as I do. :biggrin_2559: That gets old quick!
