Hi, I'm about to buy a truck. I need some help to decide between an international (2012, maxxforce,270000miles, 10 spd, extra 2years/200000 miles factory warranties) or (international, 2009, cummins 435 hp, 440000 miles, 10 spd). The main thing for me is reliability. Thanks.

I'd go with the Detroit for the fuel mileage. I've had both and the Detroit gets the best fuel mileage.
Karim31 and 7.3 cowboy Thank this. -
What about reliability ?

Well, taking a better look at both these motors which either one would be a great motor I have decided to go with 60 Series 12.7. The reason why for me is because it will come with an upgraded BW turbo along with a PP ported and polished exhaust manifold plus a much better starter along with daul high flow exhaust. Just need to decide what size of stacks and also what gears that will be used to put with the 13sp.

That friggin rocker box gaskets have completely turned me off of N14s. Dumb design. Low oil pressure and low flow cooling is just not where its at.

Both are good solid work horse. If you ran then side by side, the biggest difference between the two would be which one has the better rebuild......my 2 cents.
