Ummmm, honestly...
I didn't study a bit....
We're a week into class and there is a lot of info that I got from that, and I had my class A permit about 18 months ago too. So there is a lot of info that I retained. I was expecting to fail at least one of the tests and then know what I need to focus on. But I was actually surprised at how much I knew. -
Congrats, Swaps. Good luck from here

I have all of the study exams, General Knowledge, Air Brakes, etc.
Shoot me a PM (via a moderator if necessary) and I'll email them to you.
BTW, what school are you attending? -
Our local college has a college truck driving CDL course that is very inexpensive for people living in state.
I told them up front that I was diabetic before I even registered and they said "absolutely no" and that I wouldn't pass the CDL health exam.
I've always wanted to drive a truck very badly but I just don't think it's in the cards for me ever!
Some of you say it's still possible, how?
Any info would be appreicated on this!
Thanks Very Much, Clark -
go to your doctor and ask him if you would pass a DOT physical because of your diabetes.
I would trust a medical professional first. -
Some companies will hire diabetic drivers for intrastate work that doesn't fall under Federal regulation -
Thanks for the info RickG!
It doesn't look to good for me but I'm going to talk to my doctor and see what he says first on Tues.
You really can't blame them for denying diabetics to drive professionally because I have seen VIDS of diabetics going bonkers after having low blood suger and what can happen.
Most people have the misconception that a diabetic needs insulin ASAP when they go into a episode, they need anything suger ASAP, not insulin!

hey guys, i am new here... i am also an insulin dependent diabetic who is interested in getting a cdl. Here in ny you are required to get a " Diabetic exemption form" filled out by primary doc, eye doc and endo in addition to a medical examiners report. from what i understand once you send in all paperwork this process takes 4-6 months. is anyone familiar with this? to me this seems quite unfair
