Seriously? It's a simple switch on the dash to turn the lights off. As for trailer switch....you are doing load checks right? Jeeze
OD lighting requirements?

Run lights, flags, banners and stobes rather be scene than worry about some dumb ### pencil pusher DOT officer from this state or that state.

I think the OP is just concerned with being set up to be able to be legal wherever he may go. Calling people incompetant is a bit much for such a generalized conversation. Jee whizz....lighten up fellas. To the OP, I hope you found your info as to what lights you may need. Of course, read your permits to see when it is or isnt appropriate to actually turn them on. One note....if your truck is equipped with oversized load lights, they must be operational even when not required to be pn . Just like any other light on a vehicle, they have to work, even if not currently required to be on. An officer during a DOT inspection may require you to turn them on to ensure they work.

I have been checked while under an od load.
What state do they do the light check? -
Might depend on the state.
Maybe it's just the officer.
Kind of like everyone saying spare bulbs and fuses. Depends on the officer
I've only been asked one time for triangles and fire ext. Never been asked for bulbs and fuses.
