Thanks for sharing that Doug. I remember quite a few of them, some had catchy one-liners to go with the name, like Campbell 66- "Humpin-to-please" & Preston- " The 151 line"....I was kinda surprised when St. Johnsbury went out, always thought they had their act together.

Yes,I remember when they were all falling, hard to believe, hurt lots of people including close friends.Only one or two names on that list that I didn't know.
I was in my truck early one morning in 2002,the day after labor day, going down I-95 to Virginia, when it came over the news that Consolidated Freightways had closed the doors.I almost fell out of my cab.We all knew it was coming, but still hard to believe, till it actually happened. To work for,and slowly watch one of the greatest companies ever dissolve was hard for a lot of us.Still have great memories of the old days, wouldn't trade 'em for anything. -
Naptown Thanks this.

Today I saw Black Ice Trucking pulling a flatbed from Crosby,Tx. One I remember seeing from 10+ years ago was a black Freightliner with the name "Poo Kat Trucking" . I think they were from Mississippi.
